Something fishy is going on Portal Masters and I’m trying to get to the bottom of it. So I posted earlier today about the single pack easter edition figures being a rumor. Well this evening futureshop.ca (Canadian version of Best Buy), Best Buy, and Amazon have listed the same single packs that were thought to be fakes.
It is not certain what is going on, but Eggscellent Weeruptor’s name is spelled wrong in all the images. Although the image I posted was fan made it seems to be of a genuine product unless the images were snatched from the same online source and it all is incorrect. I highly doubt that is the case so here are my assumptions on what is going on…
We know that Target and Toys R Us will have their own Skylanders Easter Edition figures with Toys R Us also releasing an exclusive Russle Sprout trap, but they are supposed to be packed together not in single package form. With other major retailers listing single packs with a late March release it leads me to believe that every other retailer maybe receiving single pack easter figures and Target and TRU will have separate easter sets at their locations.
I’m sure we will have exact release dates for everything after Toy Fair, speaking of Toy Fair a lot of us were not sure if Activision would be attending this years event. Today we got conformation that Activision would indeed be at Toy Fair but at a smaller booth than usual.
I’m stoked to get some more Skylanders news I don’t think we will hear anything about the new game but I do think we will see the easter figures, some other variants, and possibly get a new Toy Fair Exclusive Skylander. Toy Fair kicks off tomorrow so hopefully we will get some good news and images then.
So what are your thoughts on this whole thing? What do you thing is going on with the easter release? Leave a comment and let me know. I’ll be sure to keep you all updated on what I find as usual. Until next time I will catch you on the “SKYSIDE!”
You may remember me posting this photo yesterday on our social network sites.
Well I wanted to clarify some things about the photo. First and foremost this photo is NOT the real image of the Easter Edition toys that are set to be released in March. I originally posted the photo when I saw it on Instagram posted by a user I follow. I didn’t properly look at the photo, but after further inspection it clearly is a fake. There are many reasons why we know this is not a real photo…
- The packaging is wrong.
- The color of the figures don’t match up with the image I posted of the toys out of packing.
- They are in single packaging and we know that they will be sold together as a set.
And finally… the spelling of Eggscellent Weeruptor’s name is wrong.
I also made an error with the release date. I commented on a post stating that the easter things would be released on March the 15th. I apologize I answered that question half asleep and out of it not realizing what I said. As I stated in my earlier post TRU will be releasing the easter figures March 2nd with other retailers quickly following behind. As we know stores like Best Buy & Target always try to beat the competition to the punch so it’s a possibility we will see them hit these stores before the TRU March 2nd release.
Sorry for all the confusion have to learn to not have conversations when I haven’t slept in 2 days LOL! Hope this clears everything up as far as the rumors go. Until next time catch you on the “SKYSIDE!”
I just wanted to share these images I came across on Instagram of Spotlight, Legendary Bushwhack, minis Breeze and Pet-Vac, and Blackout. All photo credits go to Instagram user @trap_master_wallop. Enjoy! I’ll catch you on the SKYSIDE!
This morning I got an email from Activision with a little more info and images of the new items coming to a store near you. Some of this has already been released or I already have told you about it. Such as Love Potion Pop Fizz take a look at the intro video provided by Activision…
Also being released are the 4D Crayola Color Alive coloring pages, and the easter edition figures. When I posted about this stuff I didn’t have any images of the easter edition figures. Well that is no longer the case you can now see what all the new items look like before they are released thanks to the press release I got this morning here is what it said…

In addition to the exciting new offerings from General Mills and Crayola, Activision is bringing several special edition toys to the Skylanders Trap Team roster. Parents looking for the perfect toys to include in Easter baskets can get their hands on the springtime editions of fully playable, pocket-sized Skylanders Minis toys, Power Punch Pet-Vac and Eggsellent Weeruptor. This year, Pet-Vac is aiming to break the all-time Skylander record for number of eggs collected, while Eggsellent Weeruptor has disguised himself as a candy-coated egg, having been chosen as the mascot in the Skylands Annual Dragon Egg Hunt. Lastly, Portal Masters can now use the new limited edition Earth Trap, inspired by the Easter Bunny, to trap Skylands’ most notorious villains.
Skylanders has sold through more than 240 million toys², outselling all top action-figure lines worldwide in 2014 for the third consecutive year³.
I’m pretty interested in getting the Crayola Starter pack set. I think it is a pretty cool idea to be able to color the box and make it look how you want. I want it just cause it’s a collector’s item and I love collector’s items. 🙂 The Bunny Earth Trap is pretty interesting as well. How about the mini variants? Pretty dope huh? I think so the color scheme on Eggscellent Weeruptor is absolutely beautiful and I bet it looks even better in person can’t wait! Well I’m going to end this with saying easter is going to be EGGSCELLENT! (Pun intented). Until next time “Catch you on the SKYSIDE!”
Want the Crayola 4D Color Alive Coloring Pages? You can buy them directly from Crayola right here. You can also get a sample page before you purchase it as well. The pages are only $5.99 plus tax of course and shipping if ordering from online. Happy Hunting!
It’s another lazy Sunday here in chilly Ohio. I hope you all are enjoying the last day of your weekend before you have to go back to school and work. I know some of you have been frantically looking for the Kaos Trap. They are seemingly nowhere to be found besides eBay and Amazon for outrageous prices. Well that may have just changed for just a moment. Is seems that Walgreens stores have gotten some stock of Wave 3 Trap Team traps and guess who is there? That’s right KAOS! So if you still are in need of this villainously elusive trap head on down to your local Walgreens store to see if you can still find him in stock.
I just grabbed one myself along with a Snake Life and Winged Water Trap as of 2 days ago. Sorry I’m just saying something about it I have been busy working on a few new websites and some music projects as well. I’m not sure how well stocked the shelves will be as I got the last of each trap on the shelf when I made my purchase. It maybe a good idea to call around to see what is still available, if they can hold the items you want, or possibly place an order to the warehouse for you (can’t hurt to try). Hopefully some of you get lucky and can get some goodies. If you do tell us about what you find and how your experience was with hunting. Please be sure to show us some love on our social networks we love to hear from other Portal Masters if you need any help just drop us a message and we will be sure to get back to you as soon as we can. Happy Hunting! Until next time next time “Catch You On The SKYSIDE!”
I was going through my timeline and I noticed that Portal Master Andrew Azalea tagged me in a link to an article discussing the new release of Skylanders slated to be released in 2015. According to VideoGamer the new game will not be made by Toys for Bob, but instead will be developed by Vicarious Visions makers of last years mega hit Skylanders Swap Force. Most of us die hard fans already had this knowledge, but it is good to know that the rumor seems to be true. Due to the sale of over 240 million toys since the Skylanders Game was released in 2011 generating over 3 billion in retail sales, Activision has stated that they have out sold every toy line released in 2014 making it the Number 1 selling toy in the world. You may remember me mentioning Skylanders being the #1 children’s console game of 2014. As well as receiving another #1 console game rating with the release of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. With the tremendous amount of sales Activision will not only be releasing a new Skylanders game, but according to the Activision 4th quarter company report there will also be a new Call of Duty game and a 3rd expansion of Destiny.
What will the new game be called? What will it be about? Who will be in it? Man so questions are coming to me now… hope I can get some more info in the months to come. Are you excited to hear that there will be another game coming? What are your guesses about what the new ‘gimmick’ will be? Let me know in the comment section. Be sure to check us out on all of our social networks. Oh I have a small announcement to make. For those of you that have followed the Skylander Addicts journey the original website is coming back with a brand new look. I’m pretty excited to bring the original Skylander Addicts site back. I want to know what are some changes you would like me to make before I republish the site? I want to continue to grow our awesome fold and what better way to do so than to have your help. Without you I wouldn’t be able to do any of this and for that I am grateful and thankful to have the friendship of all of you. Until next time “Catch you on the SKYSIDE!”
I woke up to a message from NOE telling me to check out Dark Spyro. Of course I jumped up and hit the net to see what was going on. At first I looked at the post and was like “Really? Nitro Head Rush Info… Eh!” then I noticed a comment that made me understand what the fuss was about. According to DS user Txholdem1224 there will be an exclusive Special Easter Edition Weeruptor Mini Skylander and Earth Trap.
This is awesome news! I’m not sure if the Weeruptor and Earth trap will come together, but it is nice to know that we will be getting easter exclusives from TRU and Target. Here is the DPCI to help you out while you are on the hunt: 207-00-3014.
Now back to Nitro Head Rush as we already know she is being seen on the shelves of Target stores, but the figures are register locked with a release date of 2/15. What you may not know is the DPCI so here it goes: 207-00-3012. Hopefully having this bit of extra information will help you guys get your hands on these with no issues. DS user star kitty posted some images of the Nitro Head Rush figure they spotted but couldn’t purchase. Check out the images in the gallery below. Special thanks to NOE, Star Kitty, and TxHoldEm for the heads up.
Until next time “Catch you on the SKYSIDE!”

Addict is truly a good word to describe Skylanders fans. If you’re just starting out, you may not have realized it yet, but you too will soon become an addict.
Starting the Collection
I can’t even begin to count the number of times I’ve heard the same old story. It goes something like this:
I picked up the first game and it was fun. So I picked up a character from each element so that I could unlock everything. That was it, I told myself, I’m not going to buy any more than I need…Now look at my collection…
I don’t know if it’s the way the figures are designed or if it’s the way the games are designed or if it’s just the marketing, but Skylanders are extremely collectible. It’s like a black hole. It will shamelessly draw in absolutely anyone that comes near it.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love collectibles. I’ve had the “collection gene” (as my brother calls it) my whole life. I started young with things like pogs and trading cards before moving on to Pokemon (Gotta catch ‘em all!). It only seems natural to slide into something like Skylanders.
Learning to Live with It
There comes a time in every collector’s journey when you have to admit that it’s more than just a casual hobby.
It’s nothing to be ashamed of. There is no age limit.
I just think about some people I know who regularly spend $25 each week at the bar or going to the movie theater. That’s where they choose to spend their money. That’s their form of entertainment.
For you and me though, our entertainment comes in the form of a collection. Not only do we get to enjoy the time and effort put into acquiring the collection, but we get to play with, level up, and upgrade our collection. How cool is that?
A Different Focus
While Lennon here at Skylander Addicts does a fantastic job of keeping you informed of any and all things related to Skylanders, my site, SkylandersCharacterList.com (SCL), has a bit narrower focus.
On SCL I am only concerned with the playable figures and how they interact with the Skylanders games. I want keep you informed, but I also want to keep you organized.
As collections grow it really becomes a necessity to add some sort of organization. Not only do you want to keep track of what you own, but you want to know what you still need to complete your collection.
This is precisely why I started SkylandersCharacterList.com (SCL).
When I got started with Skylanders there was simply no complete list of Skylanders. I found many partial lists and I even found lists with figures that don’t actually exist. I had no easy way to figure out what I had and what I was missing.
To fill this void I created the Skylanders Checklists. These are simple, black and white, printable, PDF checklists. Now they might not be the flashiest lists around, but I can guarantee you they are accurate and complete.
Over the past two years SCL has experienced tremendous growth and I have to attribute most of this success to accuracy and completeness.
Now I’m not saying that other sites aren’t accurate or complete, but these are two qualities of SCL that I often get positive comments about. Naturally I like to hear that SCL has been able to help others, but it’s even better when the help they are receiving aligns perfectly with the reasons I created the site in the first place.
As my readership grew, I realized that there was a lot more I could be doing to help my audience. With each new release came more figures to keep track of and more concepts to try to understand.
For you addicts that have been with us for a few years, it may have been easy to understand, but think about a parent who just found out about Skylanders this year. Where do you start? Four games, four Portals, hundreds of Skylanders, and no idea which way is up…
So this past year I focused on not only providing checklists, but providing insight into how the games work, how the figures work, and how they all interact. Thus the Getting Started section was born on SCL.
While I would love you all to come and take a look at what’s going on at SCL, keep this in mind:
Kids: Keep enjoying the games. They were made for you.
Parents: Take a few minutes to increase your Skylanders knowledge (and don’t be afraid to ask questions). Your kids will love you for it and I think you may find that you can enjoy it too.
Everyone Else: You’re never too old to start a collection or enjoy playing games. While the games may be marketed towards kids, there’s a little something for everyone. If you enjoy playing Skylanders (like I do) don’t let anyone stop you.
Whether you’re just getting started with Skylanders or you’ve been around for a while, there will always be a place for you here at Skylander Addicts as well as SCL.
