Skylanders Snap Shot Makes Cameo Appearance In New Target Commercial

Hey Addicts!

Man Activision is doing it extra big on the marketing and promotion side of things. They are on Frito Lay bags, General Mills snacks, Yoplait yogurts, soon to be on Crayola coloring pages, and just announced that Eruptor will be at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. If you got to any retailer that sells Skylanders it would seem like the displays are even beefed up and nicely stocked especially at Toy R Us and Target. Speaking of Target have you seen the new “Alice in Marshmallow Land” Target commercial? If you have, did you notice that lead Trap Master SnapShot makes a cameo appearance along with other popular toys like Barbie and Leo from the Ninja Turtles. I think it is a very cute commercial. Take a look at the extended version and tell me if you agree. Until next time “Catch you on the SKYSIDE!”

Skylanders Makes Debut At Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade

Hey Addicts!

Looks like one of our favorite fire Skylanders is making an appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. I have been wondering when we would see a Skylander in the Thanksgiving parade. Seeing as this has been a very popular game that appeals to children and adults you would think it would have happened sooner, but better now than never I suppose. Are you going to be attending the parade? Who do you think should have been the first Skylander to be in the parade? Check out the email I got this morning and the gallery for a few pictures. Until next time catch you on the SKYSIDE!

Skylanders Character, Eruptor, will Join the One-of-a-Kind Balloon

Fanfare in New York City on November 27

Skylanders, the popular kids video game that brings physical toys to life, is taking flight in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade for the first time! Fan-favorite Skylanders character Eruptor will join the prestigious collection of balloons at the parade, marking a significant pop culture milestone for the franchise.

Fan-favorite character Eruptor, who will be flying high above the New York City skyline, hails from deep in the underground of a floating volcanic island that launched his entire civilization to the surface after a massive eruption.  He’s a complete hot head – steaming, fuming, and quite literally erupting over almost anything.

In fact, to re-create Eruptor’s smoldering physique, artists used more than 40 gallons of florescent paint and five barrels of glitter! The live broadcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will begin at 9 a.m. all time zones on NBC. A sneak peak of the Eruptor balloon can be viewed via the attached graphical render.

The award-winning, $2 billion Skylanders video game franchise debuted in 2011 with Skylanders® Spyro’s Adventure, which featured the Toys-to-Life interactive figures, portal, and accessories and firmly established the play pattern that seamlessly bridges the physical and virtual worlds across multiple platforms.

The newest game, Skylanders Trap Team, is now available at retail nationwide on Xbox 360™and Xbox One™; PlayStation® 3 and PlayStation® 4; Wii™ and Wii U™; and a unique adventure is also available on 3DS™.  Skylanders Trap Team also ushers in the complete console gaming experience on Tablet¹, introducing a Starter Pack that supports iPad®, Kindle Fire and Android tablets.
